Objective: To research the expression of Bmi-1(B.cell specific Moloney leukemia virus insertion site1) and G1i1(G1ioma-associated Oncogene Homolog1) in hunman esophagealsquamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) tissue and study their relationship withclinicopathological characteristics and prognostic factors of re-processtreatment for regional recurrence after radical esophagectomy inesophageal carcinoma,In order to find some predictors of the prognosisof esophageal squamous carcinoma and provide a theoretical basis forindividualtreatment programs. Methods:TO Screen120patients whounderwent Chemoradiotherapy for regional recurrence after radicalesophagectomy in Sichuan Province Tumor Hospital from2006to2011,and all the cases diagnosed as esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.Expression of Bmi-1/G1i1protein levels were researched byimmunohistochemical SP method from surgical tissue specimens tissuesamples. Use the statistical package spss20.0statistical processing, X2inspection can supply qualitative information, correlation analysis useSpearman rank correlation detection, the survival rate can becalculated by the Kaplan-Meier survival analysis, Log-rank testunivariate analysis and Cox multivariate regression analysis, The above method is used to Analyze the relationship of expression of Bmi-1, G1i1protein and clinicopathological factors, and prognosis of the re-processtreatment,while their interaction of. Bmi-1and G1i1.Results:1. Thecases of Bmi-1protein positive expression are89in120cases ofesophageal squamous cell carcinoma, the positive rate was74.2%, G1i1the cases of Bmi-1protein positive expression are87in120cases ofesophageal squamous cell carcinoma, the positive rate was72.5%.Common positive expression of Bmi-1and Gli1are76cases, thecommon high expression is23cases, and the common negativeexpression is20cases. Statistical analysis, the expression of Bmi-1andGli1was positive correlation (P <0.05).2. The expression of Bmi-1in theage difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). T1, T2, T3/T4ofBmi-1expression rates were0.00%,19.05%and37.78%, the highexpression of Bmi-1increases was along with increasing of depth ofinvasion, they were positive correlation (P <0.05). Bmi-1positiveexpression rate had no relationship with regional lymph node metastasis, there is no significant difference (P>0.05), and high expression rates ofBmi-1protein in the regional lymph node metastasis were21.31%and40.37%, respectively, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05).In Stage I, Stage II, Stage III of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma theexpression rates of bmi-1were not statistically significant (P>0.05),buthigh expression rates of Bmi-1were0.00%、14.95%and20.56%, The difference was statistically significant (P <0.05).3. The high expressionof Gli1was correlated with T stage. The difference was statiscallysignificant (P<0.05).4. The signifant short-term efficacy tochemoradiotherapy by logistic multifactor regression analysis showedthat the pathological grade and the high expression of Bmi-1werecorrelated with the effect of chemoradiotherapy.5. Through Coxregression analysis: The prognosis of the treatment of esophageal cancerrecurrence had correlation with time to recurrence, the high expression ofBmi-1/Gli1and drinking. Conclusion:1.Bmi-1express generally inESCC. The high expression of Bmi-1is correlated with T stage, lymphnode metastasis and TNM stage. It is indicated that the high expression ofBmi-1and tumor invasion and metastasis have closely relationship.2.The Gli1prevalent in ESCC. The high expression of Gli1was relatedwith T stage, which suggested: Bmi-1expression and tumor invasionhave closely relationship.3. There was a positive relationship betweenthe protein expressions of Bmi-1and Gli1in ESCC. Which confirmedthere is a certain regulation between Bmi-1and Gli1, and may play asynergistic role in the invasion of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.4.The expression of Bmi-1and Gli1are chemoradiotherapy prognosticrisk factors of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma,It is indicated thatthey may be related with the chemoradiotherapy resistance respectively. And they may be as an independent prognostic indicator respectively.
