ObjectiveTo discuss the function of rational emotional therapy in improving traumaticamputation patients’mood, automatic thoughts, self-acceptance, and sleepquality. To provide the theory and practice basis of implementing the scientificand effective psychological nursing to the raumatic amputation patients bysummarizing the work experience.MethodsSelected390traumatic amputation patients between2008April to2011April in our hospital. All patients were ruled out serious diseases such as heart, kidney, liver, lung diseases, blood disease, and immune disease, and they hadno mental illness history or family mental illness history. We questioned410traumatic amputation patients, with self-assessment depression scale form(CES-D), self acceptance questionnaire (SAQ), Pittsburgh sleep quality indexform(PSQI) and automatic thoughts questionnaire (ATQ). We Screened traumapatients (CES-D≥16), and divided them into two groups at random. Adoptedthe method of Psychotherapy Trials. Patients in the trial group received thetreatment of reasonable emotional therapy on the basis of routine nursing for6weeks, each week twice, and30minutes each time;20patients of the othergroup only received the routine nursing. Two groups both took the survey ofCES-D, SAQ, PSQI and ATQ before and after the intervention at the same time. All data adopted SPSS11.0statistical software for statistical analysis.Measurement data used x+s software for analysis. Result1. Traumatic amputation patients with depression symptom (CES-D cscore>16) accounted for51.75%;70.00%(PSQI>7) patients had different degree ofsleep disorders problem.2. There was a positive correlation (P <0.01) between the depressionmood of patients and negative automatic thoughts,it was a negativecorrelation(P <0.01) between the depression mood of patients and selfacceptance, and it was a a positive correlation (P <0.05) between thedepression mood of patients and sleep disorders patients.Patients withdepression (CES-D cscore>16) had high frequency of automatic thoughts, andthe low level of self-acceptance.3. The score of CES-D reduced significantly after the intervention (58.24+/-5.70before intervention,45.10+/-6.33after intervention), the difference hadsignificant statistical significance(P <0.01).The self-acceptance level after theintervention improved(37.52+/-5.30before intervention,41.57+/-4.85afterintervention), the difference had significant statistical significance(P <0.05),inwhich the difference of the self-acceptance factor (18.81+/-3.63beforeintervention,21.24+/-2.74after intervention)had statistical significant (P <o.05), the difference of the self assessment factor had no statisticalsignificant. The sleep quality improved after intervention (14.05+/-9.97beforeintervention,7.48+/-4.40after intervention), the difference had significantstatistical significance(P <0.01).The difference which consist of sleep time andsleep disturbance factor had statistical significant(P <0.05).The difference ofCES-D, SAQ,ATQ and each factor in compared group, had no statisticalsignificant.Conclusion1.The incidence of depression in traumatic amputation patients is very high, the level of self-acceptance is low, the frequency of automatic thoughts is high, the majority of patients have sleep disorder problem. There is a correlationbetween the depression and automatic thoughts, self-acceptance, sleep quality.2.Rational emotional therapy can improve the mood of traumaticamputation patients, the effect of the rational emotional therapy to traumaticamputation patients is very good, and it is worth of promoting.
