ObjectiveTo compare the effect of three different methods on preventing PICCectopic in jugular veins.MethodsTotally480patients with PICC were divided into three groups randomly,160in each group. The entrance of jugular veins was blocked during PICCplacement by using the traditional method, finger—pressure, and pressuredevice in group A,B and C,respectively. The catheter ectopic rate wascompared among the three groups.ResultsCatheter ectopic rate of jugular veins among the three groups hasstatistically significant difference (P<0.05), the total ectopic rate hasstatistically significant difference (P<0.05), the ectopic rate between Group Aand Group C has statistically significant difference (P<0.05),the ectopic ratebetween Group A and Group B and the ectopic rate between Group B andGroup C don′t have statistically significant difference (P>0.05). The catheterectopic rate of PICC was lowest in group C(P<0.05).ConclusionsUsing pressure device to block the entrance of jugular veins is moreeffective to prevent catheter ectopic of PICC. It is worth to be promoted andused. |
