Abstract:Medical image processing is an important branch in the field of computer vision as well as the application of digital image technology in biomedical engineering. Extracting the target object and measuring the3D information by processing of medical images not only can effectively guide the doctor treatment and diagnosis,but also provide accurate data for artificial joints.In considerations of CT sequence images of the proximal femur for skeletal form, gray level distribution, edge features, image taken initial conditions and so on, the method which based projection and boundry tracing is proposed to locate position of the bone and determine the initial interest area, and then get data for the extern contour of the middle femoral backbone.When extracting the extern contours of the proximal femur in CT sequence images, according to the relevance and mutability between frames for CT sequence images, the method for searching a closed contour line for optimal segmentation target bone under the current frame of interest area by the contour line of prior frame is proposed that is locate interest area of target bone according to prior frame contours,then narrow outer boundary of the interest area, The number of narrowed outer boundary point (potential optimal line) which is not equal zero in the binary image to determine the optimal segmentation line.When measuring three-dimensional index of proximal femur, according the results of extern contours extracting, we outline the pixel coordinates into a three-dimensional scale-space coordinates. Then segments the three-dimensional data for the size of head of femur and the body of femur. The neck stem angle of femoral is the center of the most crude of trochiter, so we use the method of three-dimensional distance transform to calculate. Fitting out femur axis line by the method of fitting. Make sure maximum cross-section of femur by virtue of femur axis line and center of sphere for femoral head, calculating out the diameter of fem ral neck and length of neck by virtue of cross-section point, then measure the size of the neck stem angle.Finally, on the basis of the summarized work, the essay has put forward some useful suggestions in the later study work, which is in great favor of guiding the further study work.
