ObjectiveThe aim of this study is to detect the TREM-1expression in Astrocytomas and investigate the association between TREM-1expression and tumor progression.MethodesTREM-1protein expression in human astrocytomas and non-neoplastic brain tissues was measured by SP Immunohistochemical staining. RT-PCR was performed to detect the gene expression of TREM-1in Astrocytomas and non-neoplastic brain tissues. Mononuclear cells were separated from peripheral blood of patients with Astrocytomas or health persons without any neoplasia.ResultsThe expression level of TREM-1measured by SP Immunohis--tochemical staining in astrocytomas tissues was significantly higher than that in corresponding non-neoplastic brain tissues (P<0.01). It also revealed that high TREM-1expression was significantly associated with malignant Astrocytomas. The gene expression of Trem-1as well obtain the same result as Immunohistochemical staining close. The TREM-1expression in peripheral blood mononuclear cells drawn from patients with Astrocytomas or health people. ConclusionsHigh Trem-1expressive is an important feature of human astrocytomas. In addition, the elevated expression level is associated with advanced astrocytomas progression. Detect of TREM-1may benefit us in early diagnosis and grading of human astrocytomas. |
