Objective: To discuss left ventricular (LV) twist, untwist in patients withdual-chamber pacemaker, tissue doppler imaging(DTI) and speckle trackingimaging(STI) were used and the cardiac function was evaluated. Methods: Two dimensional images of the apical four chamber view, the LV shortaxis view of basal level and apex level were obtained in40cases before and after thepacemaker implantation, so were the mitral annular tissue doppler spectrum, then weentered the STI system to record the parameters of Tei index, LV peak rotation, peaktwist, untwist rate, and to made statistical analysis. Results: Left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) was no statistical significance inthree groups (P>0.05). Tei index was decreased, LV peak twist, untwist rate wereincreased after the operation(P <0.05). Tei index was increased, LV peak twist, untwistrate were decreased befor the operation(P <0.05). LV regional peak rotation weresignificantly different(P <0.05). LV peak rotation, untwist rate were negatively relatedto the Tei index. Conclusion: The method of dual-chamber pacemaker implanting can improve thepatients LV systolic and diastolic function. LV regional systolic function were differentin pacemaker than normal group. Twist and untwist can early assessment of LVfunction. The STI and DTI can evaluate the cardiac function sensitively.
