Objective: Through the application of stellate ganglion block (SGB)combined with electroacupuncture, SGB to treat migraine, observe theclinical effect of the treatment of migraine. At the same time, observe thevascular changes they caused. Methods: Using randomized, controlled study design of clinical trials, according to clinical manifestations and auxiliary examination of60patientswith a diagnosis of migraine, randomly divided into2groups,30cases ineach group, all the patients signed the informed consent form. Group Atreated with SGB only, B group with SGB+electroacupuncture treatment,treatment1times every2days, a course5times,10times as a stage. Everytime before and after the treatment, using visual analogue score (VAS)degree of pain assessment of patients and clinical effect, measured by colorDoppler ultrasound in patients with bilateral (SGB side and contralateral)carotid artery hemodynamic parameters (diameter D, resistance index RI,the peak velocity PSV etc.). Course of treatment to monitor the patient’soxygen saturation (SP02), heart rate (HR), blood pressure (BP) and other vitalsigns change. Before and after treatment were measured by transcranial Doppler. After the end of treatment, the use of statistical methods ofindependent samples t test, compared with two groups of score and theclinical efficacy. Results: there were no statistically significant differences between thetwo groups in gender, age, VAS score, carotid artery D, RI, PSV beforetreatment(P>0.05). The two groups after treatment than before treatmentVAS score was significantly decreased (P<0.01), no significant differencebetween the two groups. Two groups of treatment were significantlyeffective, but the total effective rate between the two groups no significantdifference (P>0.05). In all patients with effective treatment, the number oftwo groups of treatment had significant difference (P <0.01). In two groupsof patients after cervical artery D (SGB side) were significantly higher thanthose before treatment (P<0.01), two groups of treatment of cervical carotidartery RI (SGB side) were significantly smaller than those before treatment(P<0.01), the two groups showed no significant differences. SGB treatmentof contralateral carotid artery D, RI, PSV before and after treatment showedno obvious change. No serious adverse effects on the entire treatmentprocess. Conclusion: SGB combined with electroacupuncture, SGB is effectivein the treatment of migraine, and studies have shown that SGB combinedwith electroacupuncture can significantly reduce the number of treatment, shorten the course of disease. SGB can make the carotid artery dilatation, decrease the carotid artery RI, but influence on the carotid artery PSV and onthe lateral vessel is not clear. SGB and Electroacupuncture can joint for thetreatment of migraine, and the side effect is small, and it is worthy of clinicalapplication.
