| ObjectiveTo observe the incidence and adjacent to the corona mortis, so as toprovide anatomic basis forthe surgical of ilioinguinal approach.MethodsOne hundred and two hemipelvises were assessed in51embalmedcadavers(37males and14females)between November2011andFebruary2012in the First Affiliated Hospital ofChongqing MedicalUniversity. Bilateral dissection was performed in every case with a total of102sides. Therelationship between the corona mortis and external iliacvessels system was indentified and the distance from the corona mortis to thesymphysis pubis was measured.ResultsFifty-one human adult cadavers were dissected bilaterally(102hemipelvises), with evidences of the vascular elements at the level ofthe superior pubic branch in39cases (66sides,76.5%) of hemipelvises.Among them, the average of distance from the corona mortis to thesymphysis pubis was (52.00±12.29) mm in male and (55.39±11.86) mm in female. There was no significant difference in the incidence and distancefrom communicating vessels to the symphysis pubis between male andfemale (P>0.05).ConclusionThe incidence of an anomalous obturator artery forming the arterialcorona mortis among Chinese is76.5%. The corona mortis crossing over theiliopubic rami should be taken attention during the ilioinguinal surgery. |
