OBJECTIVE: To investigate the relationships between MissedAbortion and Intrauterine Adhesions.METHODS: From July2010to June2012,158patients withIntrauterine Adhesions (IUA) treated with transcervical resection ofadhesion (TCRA) were enrolled retrospectively in this study. Among them,70cases whose last pregnancy was missed abortion and88cases whounderwent artificial abortion during their first or second trimester withoutcomplication were selected as the study and control groups. The degree ofIUA and the efficiency of TCRA after3months were compared between thetwo groups.RESULTS: The percentage of moderate and severe IUA in the studygroup was77.14%, significantly higher than that in the control group(53.4%)(χ~2=9.523, P<0.05). There months in post-operation,theefficacyrate of TCRA in patients with mild, moderate and severe IUA in the studygrop were93.75%,72.41%and36%, respectively,(P <0.001). Theefficiency rate of TCRA in patients with mild, moderate and severe IUA inthe control group were95.23%、74.28%、54.54%, respectively,(P=0.003). The total efficacy rate in the study group was64.29%, which wassignificantly lower than that in the control group (81.82%)(P <0.05). CONCLUSIONS: Missed abortion may be a high-risk factor ofintrauterine adhesions. At the same time, severe IUA with a worsetherapeutic effect is more likely to be seen in the patients with missedabortion. Transcervical resection of adhesion combined with adjuvanttherapy is a simplest, safe and effective method in the treatment of IUA.The treatment effectiveness of IUA is negative correlated with the gradedegree of IUA.
