Objective: To study the correlation between peripheral lung cancer dual-source CTperfusion imaging and tumor microvessel density and vascular endothelial growth factor, and to evaluate the effect of dual-source CT perfusion imaging on tumor angiogenesis ofperipheral lung cancer.Materials and Methods:30cases in Affiliated Hospital of Zunyi Medical Collegebetween December2011and December2013, and chest X-ray plain film or CT scanrevealed lung lumps and were conducted with dual-source CT perfusion imaging, thenconfirmed by pathology with peripheral lung cancer. Among them, there were18male and12female, the age of40to77years old, average58.01years old. Images were transmittedto SIEMENS workstation for image processing. Time-density curve (T-DC) of region ofinterest (ROI) of target level was calculated. Perfusion parameters and perfusion imagessuch as blood flow (BF), blood volume (BV), mean transit time of contrast agent (MTT),time to peak (TTP) and permeability surface (PS) were obtained through the maximumslope method.30cases of pathological specimens were dealt with routine HE stainingpathology examination. Immunohistochemical LSAB method (Labeled streptavidin andbiotin method) was used to stain the specimens, then microvessel density (MVD) werecounted and expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) were detected. Therelationship between dual-source CT perfusion parameters of peripheral lung cancer andthe expression of MVD and VEGF was analyzed, and the relationship between differentdegree of differentiation of peripheral lung cancer, with or without lymphatic metastasisand the expression of MVD and VEGF was compared. A P value less than0.05indicatesstatistically significant.Results:(1) MVD value of the group with lymph node metastasis of lung cancer washigher than that of the group without lymph node metastasis of lung cancer (p <0.05);VEGF of the group with lymph node metastasis of lung cancer was higher than of the group without lymph node metastasis of lung cancer (p <0.05).(2) There was no statisticaldifference between peripheral lung cancer with different degree of differentiation and theexpression of VEGF and MVD (p>0.05).(3) MVD and VEGF were positively correlatedwith CT perfusion parameters value of BF and BV of peripheral lung cancer; There was nocorrelation with MTT, negative correlation with TTP, MVD and PS has no relevance, andVEGF was positively correlated with PS. Among the CT perfusion parameters thatcorrelated with MVD and VEGF, the correlation of BF was highest.(4) There was nostatistical difference between peripheral lung cancer with histological types ofdifferentiation and the value of CT perfusion parameters (p>0.05).Conclusion: There were differences of MVD and VEGF between peripheral lung cancerof occurred lymph node metastasis or not. There was no difference between peripherallung cancers without different degree of differentiation. Dual-source CT perfusion imagingcan evaluate micro-vasculogenesis of peripheral lung, and has a certain value in evaluationof angiogenesis of peripheral lung cancer in vivo.
