Objective To analyze the clinical characteristics of paraneoplastic limbic encephalitis(PLE).Methods Based on2PLE cases in our department from the year two thousand to two thousand and eleven and11PLE cases through the literature retrieval for clinical data and analyzed.Results The disease is mainly manifested by acute or subacute onset, memory and mental disorders, often with seizures, and tumor can be found before or after the disease. Typical imaging performance is T2WI high signal in unilateral or bilateral limbic lobes, which is more clear in the FLAIR image, and the lesion is not strengthened or mildly little patchy strengthened.Conclusion The clinical performance of PLE lacks of specificity, easily to be misdiagnosed and missed diagnosis, therefore, we need to improve the understanding, make early diagnosis and furthermore screen for the primary underlying tumor.
