Objective: To discuss the relationship between the level of serum Gas6and endothelialprogenitor cells (EPCs) mobilization in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS), andconfirm that Gas6is an independent factor for the mobilization of EPCs in patients withACS.Methods: To perform a case-control study, we selected34patients with stable anginapectoris (SAP),34patients with ACS, and another31patients who were exclued from CHDwere recruited as healthy group. The general information of all subjects, such as gender, age, medical history etc had been gathered; as well as the measure blood pressure (systolicblood pressure and diastolic blood pressure) and heart rate; we also detected thebiochemical index, such as fasting blood glucose (FBG), triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol(TC), low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C); With two colour fluorescence flow cytometry, the number of peripheral EPCscould be detected; we used enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) to detect theconcentration of serum Gas6; then we analyzed data with SPSS18.0statistical software.Results:1. characteristics of the patients’ data showed that, comparing with healthy group, there were significantly higher of ACS group in age, prevalence of hypertension, FBG, TNI, SBP, and lower in TC, LDL-C and HR; and there were significantly higher of TNI in ACSgroup than SAP group (P<0.05).2. Comparing the levels of Gas6in each groups, wefound that the SAP group was significantly lower than the contol group, and the ACS groupwas significantly higher than the SAP group, although there was no significant differencebetween the ACS group and the control.3. As for the numbers of circulating EPCs in eachgroups, the data indicated that the SAP group was significantly lower than the contol group, the ACS group was significantly higher than the SAP group, and the ACS group wassignificantly higher than the control group.4. Univariate analyzing the impact of Gas6onEPCs in each group respectively, without adjusting other factors, regression analysisshowed that, there were significant differences in SAP group and ACS group.5. Toadjustment the gender, age, history of hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and hyperlipidemia, fasting blood glucose (FBG), boold lipids and other confounding factors, multipleregression showed that, Gas6is an independent factor for the mobilization of the EPCs inACS group, and Gas6rised per1ng/ml, the EPCs rised0.0159%in patient with ACS.Conclusion: Gas6is an independent factor for the mobilization of the EPCs in inpatientswith acute coronary syndrome, and which participate in EPC mobilization.
