The steroid resistant nephroticsyndrome (SRNS) patients were divided into two groups, SRNS Group8, the other SRNStreatment group, a total of9. The control group used Glucocorticoid (GC) and Westernmedicine conventional therapy, the treatment group in the control group based on the use ofYougui Wan on medication.10healthy people were collected as the normal control group.Before treatment,1month,2month after treatment at3time points drawing their peripheralvenous blood, to detect the expression in MDR1and P-gp170in blood mononuclear cells(PBMC), record their clinical symptoms and signs of traditional Chinese medicine, and thechange of urine protein in the urine routine at the same time. Conclusion: Wenyang method to improve NS in patients with steroid resistant may berelated to the decrease of PBMC MDR1gene and the expression of P-gp170. Combinetraditional Chinese and Western medicine treatment in improving patient symptoms and signswas better than the pure western medicine treatment. Patients with SRNS with highexpression of PBMC MDR1gene and its product P-gp170probably is one of the mechanismsof GC resistance.
