Objective: there are different interventions with characteristics of traditional Chinesemedicine in communities, this paper is mainly to observe the clinical effects of theseinventions on patients with lumbar disc herniation and evaluate their effectiveness andsafety. Methods: firstly, we had a survey in the form of questionnaire among patients withlumbar intervertebral disc protrusion from sep.16,2012to dec.10,2013in the ProvincialChinese traditional medicine clinic in Gansu. And then according to the approaches of therandomized controlled trial, we chose80patients to divide them into two groups, treatgroup and the control group. The former adopts traditional Chinese herbs, Chinesemassage, herb ironing and the gesture leveraging therapy, the latter uses traditional Chineseherbs, acupuncture, traction and plasters. All the material-collecting work and researchesare done by the team members with the guidance of our teacher, and the clinical studyreport is also completed on the basis of the study on community interventions of chinesetraditional medicine to lumbar intervertebral disc protrusion. The major tasks are toidentify the age, gender, infection period and JOA score, VAS score and the quality ofpatients ‘life, after3courses of treatment, we collect the data of the above again, at last weanalyze these numbers by SPSS13.0Results: The comparison and difference (before and after treatment)between the twogroups in JOA score, VAS score SLR angle and the quality of patients ‘life are of statisticalsignificance(P<0.05),so are their treatment effects(P<0.05). and the treat group is betterthan the control group(P<0.05).in a word, both treatments can clearly improve the patients’health and ease their pain.①before treatment, JOA score, VAS score, SLR angle and the quality of patients ‘lifebetween the two groups are the merely the same (P>0.05), but the difference lies in thegroup itself(P<0.05).②after treatment, JOA score, VAS score,SLR angle and the quality of patients ‘lifebetween the two groups differ a lot.③the effectiveness rates are95%(the treat group) and87.5%(the control group), obviously the first is better(P<0.05).Conclusion:although the treatments are in different Chinese traditional medicinecommunities, both of them are effective and simple to patients of lumbar disc prolapsed,it’s time to make them treatment norms in communities.
