Objective To evaluate different dosing and timing of recombinant humanerythropoietin (rHuEPO) on renal ischemia reperfusion injury. Methods SixtySD rats were randomly divided into six groups including sham operation (Sham)group, ischemia reperfusion injury (I/R) group, injection rHuEPO with5000U/kg and procure specimens after24h, injection rHuEPO with2500U/kgand procure specimens after24h, injection rHuEPO with5000U/kg and procurespecimens after48h and injection rHuEPO with2500U/kg then after24h give anadditional and procure specimens after48h. Results Compared with Sham group, other rats have kidney damage, definition as significantly increased of BUN andCr, apoptosis increased, p-JNK expression increased. With I/R group, othergroups with the rHuEPO therapy have improved markedly in renal function. Thegroup injection rHuEPO with5000U/kg and procure specimens after24h havethe best results (P <0.05). Conclusion The timely and sufficient dose of rHuEPOon renal ischemia reperfusion injury has a better protective effect.
