Objective:To study the clinical application of fast track surgery in perioperation of colorectal carcinoma.Material and methods:Thirty-two cases of colorectal carcinoma patients’clinical dates were randomized into fast track surgery (FTS) group and conventional care group. Postoperative recovery containing the average time of bowel sounds recovery, the first passage of flatus and stool, pulling the stomach tube and urinary tube, beginning liquid feeding, NSR to0score, ECOG to2score and total protein and serum albumin recovery of the first postoperative day, the length of postoperative stay, hospitalization expenses and postoperative complication rate were analyzed. Results:All patients in the group finished the study. The average time of the first passage of flatus(t=6.2, P<0.01) and average time of the first passage of stool(t=4.9, P<0.01) were shorter in FTS group, obviously superior to the conventional care group. The bowel sounds recovery time of FTS group has no statistical significance (P=0.057) compared to the conventional care group; The average time of NSR to0score and ECOG to2score was superior to the conventional care group (P<0.01); The length of postoperative stay of FTS group (5.3days)was shorter than the conventional care group (9.2days)(P<0.01); Total protein and serum albumin recovery of the first postoperative day, hospitalization expenses have no significant statistical difference, but hospitalization expenses decreased by8.4%compared to the traditional treatment group. The incidence of postoperative complications of FTS group was11.7%(2/17) while conventional treatment group was20%(3/15), have no statistical difference (χ2=0.41, P=0.41).Conclusion:Fast track surgery in colorectal carcinoma surgery is safe and effective, accelerating the intestinal functional and physical recovery, shortening the length of postoperative stay significantly, not increasing the postoperative complications.
