Objective:Preoperative exploration through investigation on Multi-slice Spiral CT Angiography (MSCTA) manifestation of the right colon vascular anatomy, provide the basis for laparoscopic right hemicolectomy. Methods:The abdominal MSCTA results of23in-patients in our hospital are retrospectively analyzed. The space relationship among right gastroepiploic vessels, right colic vessels, ileocolic vessels, middle colic vessels, gastrocolic trunks and superior mesenteric vessels, as well as the space relationship between superior mesenteric artery and superior mesenteric vein, are observed. We also measure the length and outer diameter of gastrocolic trunk. Results:78.23%patients’s superior mesenteric artery has three branches, that is, right colic artery, ileocolic artery and middle colic artery. Variations have been found in23.09%patients. Gastrocolic trunks in this study can be divided into four types, of which the one composed of right gastroepiploic vein, pancreaticoduodenal veins, right colic vein, is the main type. The average outer diameter(cm) and length(cm) of gastrocolic trunk is0.43±0.11(0.30~0.72) and0.93±0.36(0.34~1.73),respectively.Conclusion:Multi-slice Spiral CT Angiography can show the variations of right colic vessels well. Superior mesenteric artery’s composition and gastrocolic trunk type do have some variations. Preoperative assessment may help the surgeons plan a better operation pathway or method, following lower complications. It will play an important role in the laparoscopic right hemicolectomy.
