ObjectiveTo discuss the role of antifungal therapy in nonimmunosuppressed hosts with pulmonary cryptococcosis after surgery.Methods42nonimmunosuppressed patients with pulmonary cryptococcosis were treated surgically.26of them were males while16were females. The mean age was49.76±11.8yeas.15of them were used the antifungal therapy after operation Complete removal of lesion was obtained in42patients. The42patients were followed up for6months to5years.ResultsThese42patients were all cured.1of them got infection after surgery,3of them had the exercise tolerance reduced,1of them had the side effects of the antifungal drugs.DiscussionSurgical resection is an effective procedure in the localized pulmonary ctyptococeosis. The antifungal therapy may not required in those patients whose lesions has been surgically excised.
