Objective:To evaluate the effect of letrozole and clomiphenecit rate (CC) forinduction ovulation in women with Unexplained Infertility. Methods: Therandomized controlled trials concerning percutaneous thermal ablation andhepatectomy for treatment of small liver cancer were collected through literatureretrieval from native and foreign databases. The quality of included studies wasassessed according to the Cochrane systematic review method and statistical analysisof data was performed using RevMan5.1.17software. Results: Fifteen randomizedcontrolled studies finally met the inclusion criteria, with a total of2554patients. Theresults of meta-analysis indicated that the pregnancy rate, miscarriage rate andmultiple pregnancy rate between LE and CC.There were still no significantdifferences between the LE+gonadotropin(Gn) group and the CC+Gn group in thepregnancy rate, miscarriage rate, multiple pregnancy rate. Five RCTs showed thatendometrial thickness at the time of human chorionic gonadotrophin (HCG)administration in the letrozole group was significantly higher than that in theclomiphene group. Eight RCTs showed no significant differences between the twogroups. Six RCT showed that number of dominant follicle at the time of HCG administrationin the letrozole group was significantly lower than that in the clomiphene group. OneRCTs showed that the number of dominant follicle at the time of HCG administrationin the letrozole group was signficantly higher than that in the clomiphene group. Conclusion whether letrozole can replace clomiphene citrate in ovulation inductionfor women with unexplained infertility is still an issue that has to be identified by performing well-designed large scale RCT with longer follow-up duration.
