Objective:To study osteopenia with carotid atherosclerosis(Endometrial thicknessand plaque) and limbs Doppler(Degree of hardening) relevance in elderlypatients.Methods:Simple random sampling method is applied, selected patients aged60and over60years old In our cadre ward Randomly. Eliminate affect bone metabolicdisease and affect bone metabolism drugs,191Uighurs and han Chinese patients areselected as the research object, using the excel table2independent input data, to studyosteopenia with carotid atherosclerosis (Endometrial thickness and plaque) and limbsDoppler(Degree of hardening) relevance in elderly patients. Using SPSS19.0statisticalsoftware analyse the relationship among the single factors of bone mineral density,carotidartery intima-media thickness and general condition respectively. Bone mass decreases asbinary classification of multifactor conditional Logestic regression analysis, Computingthe OR and the OR value of the95%confidence interval (CI) and P values. Analyse therelevance among bone mineral density and carotid artery intima-media thickness, carotidplaques harden degree, limb doppler (degree of hardening of the arteries). Results:Atotal of191cases, including135cases of osteopenias,121cases of the common carotidartery intimal thickening. Carotid atherosclerosis plaque (no, little2, a large number ofthree or more or less) of the number of cases, the number of cases are: the20patients,50cases,121cases. Limb doppler sclerosis (no, light, medium, heavy), the number of casesare:40patients,56cases,70cases,25cases. Research results show that in the singlefactor analysis, vitamin D, sex, alcohol, limb doppler for hardening in normal bone massand osteopenia group comparison, the difference was statistically significant (p <0.05);Age, triglyceride, low density lipoprotein, limb doppler hardening, carotid atherosclerosisplaque of carotid artery intima thickening and thickening of the group in comparison, thedifference was statistically significant (p <0.05). With many factors of osteopenia for binary classification Logestic regression analysis, According to the level of α=0.05inspection, under the condition of other factors to determine, Women(χ~2=14.461,p<0.05,OR=7.388,95%CI2.636-20.711), age groups (80or higher)(χ~2=4.771,p<0.05,OR=5.264,95%CI1.186-23.362), hypertension(χ~2=4.626,p<0.05,OR=3.389,95%CI1.114-10.310), a severe lack of vitamin D (χ~2=13.431,p<0.05,OR=7.616,95%CI2.571-22.559) and deficiency (χ~2=8.530, p<0.05, OR=4.356,95%CI1.623-11.696), limb doppler severe osteopenia(χ~2=3.970,p<0.05,OR=3.161,95%CI1.019-9.804) is a risk factor for osteopenia,but body mass index (BMI), bloodcalcium, nation, smoking, drinking, hypertension, diabetes, coronary heart disease, carotidartery intimal thickening and carotid atherosclerosis plaque has no obvious correlationwith the incidence of osteopenia.Conclusion:osteopenia is the result of combined actionof many factors.Women, older age, hypertension, vitamin D deficiency, limb dopplersevere atherosclerosis is a risk factor for osteopenia,but common carotid artery intimathickening and carotid atherosclerotic plaque and osteopenia without obvious correlation.
