Objective:To study the expression of transforming growth factor-β1in Wistarrats’ serum and atherosclerosis plaque, discuss the possible relationship betweenTGF-β1and the stability of plaque.Methods:30male Wistar rats were randomly divided into three groups, group A、Band C. Group A is a control group, which were fed routine diet. Group B were treated with high‐fat (+PTU) feeding and VitD3injection, Group C with high‐fat (+PTU) feeding and VitD3+OVA injection. After14weeks, all rats were killed for the serumTGF-β1detection. The aortic tissue sections were stained with HE staining andperformed immunohistochemical examination.Results:1. Form the pathological examination, we found that both group B and C were formedatherosclerotic changes, and the atherosclerosis pathological changes of group Cwere more severely than those of group B;2. The level of serum TGF-β1in group B and C was significantly higher than that ingroup A and (p<0.05), And the level of serum TGF-β1in group C was higher thanthat in group B (p <0.05);3. TGF-β1is expressed among group A、B and C, and the expression level in groupB and C was significantly higher than that in group A and (group A compared withgroup B p<0.001, group A compared with group C p<0.002), And the expressionlevel in group B was higher than that in group C (p <0.001).Conclusions:The level of TGF-β1expression have relationship with plaquestability.
