Chinese herbal medicine is Chinese cultural treasure with a long history, its safetyand efficacy has been tested by Chinese people. Nevertheless, the quality control limitsthe development of traditional Chinese medicine. Optical and photoacousticspectroscopy are new non-destructive testing techniques with characteristics such as:easy to operate, fast, pollution-free, efficient and low cost. They have been used invarious industries. With the development of optical spectroscopy and photoacousticspectroscopy, the applications will also be widespread. Using the optical spectroscopyand photoacoustic spectroscopy to detect Chinese herbal medicine, the characteristics ofChinese herbal medicines can be directly described, and these two spectroscopies can becompared and supplemented with each other.In this thesis, optical spectroscopy and photoacoustic spectroscopy are studied, andused in the testing of Chinese herbal powder. The main contents of this paper:1. According to the principle of scattering spectroscopy and the RG theory of solidphotoacoustics, the experimental system is designed and the modules including sampleroom, photoacoustic cell, pre-amplifier are also designed and processed. The backscattering spectroscopic detection system and the photoacoustic spectroscopic detectionsystem for solid samples are set-up utilizing the processed modules and otherinstruments.2. The mercury lamp is used to verify the output light accuracy of the opticalspectroscopic system and the photoacoustic spectroscopic system. Then, the opticalspectroscopic system with accurate output light and the photoacoustic spectroscopysystem are used to measure the direct spectrum signals of Barium sulfate and carbonblack. The feasibility of the established optical spectroscopic system and photoacousticspectroscopic system are verified.3. The optical spectrum and photoacoustic spectroscopy detections of Chineseherbal medicine are obtained using the relevant systems. The original data informationof optical spectrum and its first-order and second-order derivatives of fructus toosendan,caulis clematidis armandii, common vladimiria root, medicinal cyathula root, rhiaoma iridis tectori, monkshood, Ligusticum wallichii, golden cypress and Coptis chinensis areanalyzed, as well as the photoacoustic spectroscopy information of these nine traditionalchinese medicinal materials.Above all, experimental studies show that the optical spectroscopy and thephotoacoustic spectroscopy is feasible in detection of Chinese herbal medicines.Spectroscopy and photoacoustic spectroscopy provide a practical method for detectionof traditional Chinese medicine.
