object:To investigate the correlation of BI index with light pre-eclampsia, the heavy eclampsia and eclampsia. And BI index, plasma colloid osmotic pressure (COP)and the difference hematocrit (HCT) and albumin (ALB) may provide a value tool to evaluate the severity in patients with eclampsia and pre-eclampsia.Method:In this study, a case-control study was used, All cases were divided into three parts, the first part is the normal group (I group) included46lying-in women undergoing maternity department without complications of The First Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical university from June in2011to December in2012, the ages from seventeen to thirty-nine. Collecting the date of mean arterial pressure (MAP), albumin (Alb), globulin (Glo), total protein (TP), hematocrit (Hct),and then calculates COP and BI index. The second part include56patients with eclampsia (II group) who were transferred to the Critical Care Medicine in the First Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical College from June in2008to December in2012,the aged from twenty to forty-three. and then calculates general condition of these patients, To collection of venous blood test Alb, Glo, TP,Hct, urinary protein, platelet (PLT), liver function when these patients into ICU, and at the same point record the mean arterial pressure. Based on the above indicators, COP、 BI Index and difference of Hct and Alb was calculated. The third part (III group),226normal women who undergoing medical examination in the medical examination center of The First Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical College from October in2011to March in 2011, the aged from twenty and forty. Collecting these dates of HCT, albumin (AlB), SBP, DBP, GLO, according to the following formula indicators,COP、 MAP and BI index were calculated.1plasma colloid osmotic COP=albumin (ALB)×5.54+globulin (GLO)1.43; ALB and GLO unit as g/DL, COP units as mmHg.2, mean arterial pressure (MAP) mmHg=(SBP-DBP/3)+DBP; SBP systolic blood pressure, DBP diastolic blood pressure units are mmHg.3, BI=COP/MAP.the difference of Hct and Alb,COP and BI index was calculated..A database was collated by excel to analyze the data of three independent samples by the SPSS17.0statistical software, single factor variance analysis was carried out in the data. In comparison group (group Ⅱ), the quantitative correlation have been Compared between BI index with urine protein of24hours, and according to the dividing standard of severity of pre-eclampsia or eclampsia, compare with the trends of BI index when different degree in patients with preeclampsia or eclampsia, and compare with the correlation relationship between the BI index with severity of patients. Results: There were no significant in age and weeks of gestational (p>0.05).Comparing with the first group,Alb, COP and BI index decreased and the difference of Hct and Alb increased in the second group and the third group (p<0.05), BI index and urine protein of24hours have a positively negative correlation relationship, the quantitative correlation coefficient is0.65in group Ⅱ(p<0.01), BI index and severity of eclampsia have a negative correlation, the correlation coefficient is0.73(p<0.01)Conclusion:. It is feasible to evaluate the severity of eclampsia patients by BI index and the difference of hematocrit and albumin.
