OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effect of nourishing kidney and activating blood recipe of traditional Chinese medicine. Methods on the expression of wtl in renal tissue of mice with adriamycin induced nephropathy.METHODS:Twenty-four male BALB/c mice were randomly divided into three groups, control group, model group and treated group with nourishing kidney and activating blood recipe of traditional Chinese medic-ne. The mouse model was induced by adriamycin which was injected by caudal vein. Then to observe serum albumin(ALB)、body weight、right renal weight and urine album excretion (UAE). Furthermore, the morph-ological changes of renal tissues were observed under microscope. The protein expression of wtl in kidney tissues were determined by immunofl-uorescence method. The expression of mRNA in kidney tissues was dete-rmined by RT-PCR method.RESULTS:There was a significantly lower level of ALB (20.160±0.626) and in model group than that of control group and treated group (P<0.05). There was a significantly higher level of UAE(70.453±0.603) in model group than that of control group and treated group (P<0.05).There were positive expressions of wt1in glomerular region in control group, significantly lower positive expression in model group, higher positive expressions in treated group than in model group. There were significantly higher expression of wt1mRNA in control group and treated group than those of model group (P<0.01). There were no significant differences in wt1mRNA between control group and treated group (P>0.05).CONCLUSION:After treatment with nourishing kidney and activing blood recipe of traditional Chinese medicine, the expression of wtl were up-regulated, which may maintain podocyte function and relieve renal injury.
