Brain functional network has become a new approach to understand the brain function deeper and reveal the pathogenesis of brain diseases. At present, the mainstream research about brain network are all most based on medical imaging, such as functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). In comparison, the electroencephalogram (EEG) measuring spatial orientation is not very good, but it also has its special aspects, such as high temporal resolution, real-time monitoring, and the price is cheap, easy to obtain. So EEG datas have been widely used in the research at home and abroad. This paper presents a novel construction method of brain functional network by using spatial mutual information.32channels EEG signals of normal subjects and patients with schizophrenia resting state were collected and the specific rhythm of each signal was extracted by a wavelet packet filter, the spatial mutual information of different EEG channels was calculated respectively, and to combine with the t-test method and EEG-based brain network construction method, in accordance with the principle of threshold selection, functional brain network topology of normal subjects and patients with schizophrenia were established at resting state under the specific threshold. Finally, the brain network measure in normal subjects and schizophrenic patients were extracted in two different situations, and in-depth study has been done on the statistical properties of the complex network to obtain a graph showing the change of the plurality of the measure with threshold value. The results show that the network construction method proposed by the paper to some extent, be able to portray a different brain function, and may become a new and effective method in the analysis and understanding of the pathogenesis of schizophrenia and other mental illnesses.
