Tricuspid Valve Replacement: Analysis Of Diagnosis And Treatment In13Cases

Objective To analyze the diagnosis and treatment and results of tricuspid valve replacement(TVR), to summarize the experience in operative therapy for tricuspid valve disease.Methods From January2009to February2013, thirteen patients had undergone TVR in The First Affiliated Hospital of College of Medicine, Zhejiang University. The etiology was rheumatic disease in7cases, congenital disease in4cases, degenerative disease in1case, and cardiac tumor in1case. All operations were performed under general anesthesia and by cardiopulmonary bypass. Bioprostheses was replaced in3patients,while mechanical valve was replaced in10patients. Associated procedure included mitral valve replacement and aortic valve replacement in3cases, Right atrial myxoma resection in1case,Transposition of the great arteries surgical rectifying in1case.Results The operative mortality was0%,Through statistical analysis, it showed that some index of TVR in rheumatic tricuspid valve disease was different from that in congenital tricuspid valve disease. Conclusion The incidences of operative and follow-up Complications is high in the TVR, valve replacement is the last selection for the treatment of serious tricuspid disease, appropriate operative technique and peri-operative therapy is the key for success of the operation.
