Objective:To analyze the clinical and pathological characteristics of esophagealcancer in different nationalities in Xinjiang,To analyze the potential risk factors of lymphnode metastasis with esophageal cancer. Methods:The clinicopathologic factors and follow-up data of217cases of esophagealcancer after surgical treatment from Dec,2008to Dec,2011were retrospectively analyzedby univariate and multivariate methods. Results:There was statistical significance on the differences of gender, age, occupation andsick time before the firsthospitalization among ethnics, wheras not on the differences ofalcohol and tobacco habits diet, family history, pathological types, pathological grading, location of Lesion and length of lesion. There were correlations between lymph nodemetastasis and various factors ranging from Pathological grading, lesion length, depth ofinvasion, the presence or absence of vascular invasion, with or without nerve tumorthrombus.Invasion to the adventitia, vascular invasion and the nerve tumor thrombus werefound to be independent risk factors. Conclusions:There were statistical significance on clinical features of esophageal canceramong nations in Xiniiang; Lymph node metastasis is prone to the patients with tumorlonger, deeper invasion, a lower degree of differentiation, vascular invasion and the nervetumor thrombus.
