Objective: To investigate the incidence and related factors of antibiotic associateddiarrhea(AAD) in a hospitalized pediatric population, and its preventive measures. Methods: Retrospectively analyzed totally852children patients who received antibiotictherapy for respiratory tract infections in the fifth hospital affiliated xin jiang medicaluniversity from January2011to January2012were analysed retrospectively.49cases ofantibiotic-associated diarrhea is observation group,803cases of non-antibiotic-associateddiarrhea is control group. Two groups were given and ana-lyzed in comparison, andanalyzed the risk factors of children patients of AAD. A-ntibiotics’ application, therapymethods and prognosis of observation group were analyzed. Results: The incidence ofAAD were49cases(5.9%). The danger factors were low avoirdupois, little age, appliedtwo or above two antibiotic, length of applied antibiotics, injured in important apparatus, lengh of hospitalization(P<0.01or P<0.05). It was irrespective for AAD in sex(P>0.05). Preventive application of micro-ecological agents could reduce the incidence rate ofAAD(P<0.05). According to the frequency, penicillins, cephalosporins, macrolides wereused, and the mezlocillin/sulbactam was the highest. The observation group were addedwith probiotics, electrolyte disorder in children with symptomatic treatment, as the givenmontmorillonite powder, liquid etc; A fungal infection were treated with oral nystatintreatment. After the above treatment, diarrhea in3~8d recovery in47cases(95.9%),improvement in2cases(4.1%). Conclusion: The prevalence of antibiotic associateddiarrhea is higher among children, and it is related with many factors. It is necessary forreducing AAD to strengthen preventive measure, avoid influencing factors, choseantibiotic reasonably, apply preventively micro-ecological.
