Objective: To investigate the atypical presentation of aortic dissection(AD) in order topromote the understanding of this disease. Methods:We collected cases of aortic dissectionwhich presentations were atypical between2002and2011,and retrospectively analysedtheir clinical manifestation. Results: A total of84patients with aortic dissection,including63male,21female were enrolled.According to the Stanford classification, there were47patients of Stanford type A and37patients of type B.There were59patients withhypertension,10patients with diabetes,3patients with Marfan’s syndrome.40patients hadsmoking history, the proportion of smoking patients in Stanford type A was significantlyhigher than that in type B(48.9%vs45.9%,p=0.040).There were no significantdifferences between type A and type B in ages, gender and morbidity ofhypertension, diabetes, Marfan’s syndrome.25patients were performed operation, theproportion of operative patients in Stanford type A was significantly higher than that intype B(48.6%vs14.9%,p=0.027).Atypical presentation included abdominal pain(n=48),lumbago (n=15),acute myocardial infarction (n=6),paraplegia(n=1),extremity numbness and weakness (n=2),dizziness (n=3),syncope(n=6),hemiplegia and slured(n=3).Conclusion: The aortic dissection dissection hasvaried and complicated presentation,so it’s easy to make misdiagnosis and misseddiagnosis. Therefore, clinicians should improve their understanding of the aortic dissectionin the hope of early diagnosis and treatment. |
