Abstract/Summary:
BackgroundWound healing as well as normal tissue injury repair processes in the formation of scartissue, is a normal physiological performance. When the skin is traumatized afterthrough conversion into aging at maturity stage of granulation tissue fibers ofconnective tissue wound repair, namely, the formation of scar tissue. Severe skintrauma or associated with infection, fix excessive repair or exception may occur in theprocess of repairing results of final formation of pathological scarring (includeHypertrophic Scar, keloid). The Hypertrophic Scar and keloid often causes dysfunctionof the joints, local organs of normal, causing great suffering to patients. Currenttreatment methods are many, but don’t actually achieve the purpose of combatingpathological scars. With the deepening of gene therapy research, people are lookinginto the treatment of pathological scars and the corresponding gene in the HypertrophicScar and keloid formationAbstractObjective To observe the the expression of TSG-6(tumor necrosis factor alphastimulated gene-6) in pathological scar and explore its effect on formation ofpathological scar.MethodsTissue specimens from10cases of hypertrophic scar (group A),10cases of keloid(group B) and10cases of normal skin (group C) were collected. Immunohistochemisrty and RT-PCR techniques were performed to detect theexpression and distribution of TSG-6. And then data were statistically analyzed.ResultsThe expressions of TSG-6in group A and B were higher than those in group C, andgroup A and B showed significant differences from group C (P<0.05). Moreover,TSG-6mainly expressed in fibroblastsConclusionThe mechanism of pathological scar formation is associated with the expression ofTSG-6. TSG-6may inhibit the formation of pathological scar by inhibiting MMP-9and inflammatory reaction, which may provide a new target for the prevention andcure of the pathological scar formation.
