Objective The purpose of this research was to investigate the protective function of Resveratrol(RES) in the lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced inflammation of PC12Cells(the rat adrenal pheochromocytoma cell line).Method PC12cells were cultured and treated differently in vitro. During the experiments, PC12cells were randomly divided into three groups, including the control group, the LPS-stimulated(1mg/ml,18h) group and the RES(25,50,and100μM,1h) treatment group. The effects of pro-inflammatory cytokines,interleukin-1β (IL-1β) and tumor necrosis factor-a(TNF-a) were analysed by double-immunofluorescence labeling assay and reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR).Result Different concentrations of Res(25,50,and100μM) inhibited significantly LPS-induced expression of IL-1β, TNF-α in a concentration-dependent manner on the mRNA and protein levels. Conclusion Resveratrol can inhibit the release of Pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL-1β and TNF-α) in LPS-induced PC12cells, play the role of anti-neuroinflammatory actions.
