With the development of medical ultrasound, many imaging techniques of newparameters have emerged in medical ultrasonic diagnostic imaging. As one of these newimaging techniques, the development and application of harmonic imaging technologyhas profound significance. It has become an advanced imaging mode in the currenthigh-end ultrasonic diagnostic equipment. But there are some technical difficulties inengineering implementation in order to get a better effect of harmonic imaging. Inaddition, with the rapid development of personal computer and its increasing andpowerful computing capacity, the main algorithms of data processing system inharmonic imaging can be realized completely on personal computer by software. Thistopic has studied the key problems of tissue harmonic imaging and presented a methodthat would show the better effect of imaging than the traditional methods to extractharmonic and also designed and carried out the application software system of harmonicimaging. The software system would complete a series of processing in the harmonicimaging based on ultrasound radio frequency signal, so that the high quality ultrasonicharmonic images would be gained finally. This way of software implementation wouldmake the cost of development lower and cycle of development shorter. And it would beeasy to upgrade and maintain.The main research content of this article is as follows:1. Research the key techniques of harmonic imaging: in order to solve the problemof harmonic separation in harmonic imaging, a new method of extracting harmonic ispresented. This method is second-order volttera filter, short for SVF. Contrasted withthe traditional method of band-pass filter, it has higher resolution of image and widerdynamic range and can show more details.2. Devise the software interface of system: analyze the system’s requirements andfunctions and devise a friendly interface of harmonic imaging software based on theMFC programming framework of Visual C++.3. Devise the signal processing module and digital scan converter module ofharmonic imaging: the function of signal processing and digital scan converter of harmonic imaging are added to the software system that has been designed. Signalprocessing module includes harmonic extraction, envelope detection, second samplingand logarithmic compression. DSC module involves the coordinate transformation anddata interpolation. In order to get high quality ultrasonic harmonic images, the rightalgorithms would be chosen and realized.4. Design the post-processing module of harmonic image design: in order to furtherimprove the quality of the harmonic images, post-processing module of image is addedin the software system. It includes smoothing and sharpening and pseudo colorprocessing. Adjust the parameters to gain better ultrasound harmonic images.
