Objective Study of data about Metabolic Disease Hospital,Tianjin Medical University diabetes patients in2004-2011,analysis on the basic conditions and costs,the results and other basic situation of hospital costs are compared. Above all is in order to provide preventive and control measures of diabetes disease,reduce the economic burden of patients in hospital.Methods From2004to2011,3194patients with DM were randomly sampled out of the records of patients in Metabolic Disease Hospital,Tianjin Medical University. The subjects were divided into different ages,medical history,BMI, complications, different types of complications.The hospitalization enpenses of patients and their composition were analyzed by multiple independent t test and multiple linear regression.Results (1)Different ages The average age is57.54years old,male is much more than women.Patients with differet age,hospitalization costs are gradually rised,the maximum age of patients group was2times than the minimum.(2) Different medical history The number of complications is gradually increased with the medical history of Diabetes mellitus patients. Complication number is increased obviously and rapidly to the patients with15years medical history.With the increase of medical history,the hospitalization expenses are rised signigicantly.(3)Different BMI To normal weight,overweight and obese diabetes mellitus patients,hospitalization length,hospitalization times, complication number and hospitalization expenses are increased gradually.(4)Different complication number6groups of diabetes mellitus patients,male is more than female. With the increasing complication number,age,medical history,hospitalization length and hospitalization times are increased(H values were267.346,400.922,103.910and147.257,P<0.01).There were significant differences of gender(H value was12.041,P<0.05).With the increasing complication number,the hospitalization ecpenses,bed fees,consultation fees,drug fees,treatment costs,radiation fees,nursing fees,disposable materials fees and own expenses are increasing.(5)Different kind of complications No matter what kind of complications of diabetes mellitus,the hospitalization expenses and drug fees of single disease are less the the variety of complications(P<0.05).Combined with acute complications (diabetic ketoacidosis) patients,if there is other chronic complications,the consultation fee will be higher than the single ones(P<0.05).The hospitalization expenses of diabetes mellitus patients with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease are the highest.Patients with diabetic foot with multiple complication expenses are the highest.(6)Different years During2004to2011,patients were increased2.78times,social medical insurance coverage rate has reached91.11%till2011.There were significant differences of hospitalization ecpenses,bed fees,consultation fees,drug fees,treatment costs,radiation fees,laboratory fees,nursing fees,disposable materials fees(P<0.01).(7)Hospitalization expenses affected factors The numbers of complication, hospitalization length, blood pressure, patients’ gender, medical history were found to have a significant linear correlation with hospitalization expenses of the inpatients(F value was729.498,P<0.01), and the influence degrees from high to low.(8)Average hospitalization length Patients with diabetes mellitus are lengther than the average level.(9)Hospitalization expenses The hospitalization expenses of diabetes mellitus patients are increased,nearly1.76times than8years ago.In recent years, our city do better in controlling the hospitalization expenses of diabetes mullitus, do not make more economic burden to the overall health and household. Through this study,hope to be able to reduce the economic burden of diabetes patients,improve the quality of life of patients and to provide a scientific basis for reducing social and economic burden.
