Research About Diagnosis And Classification Of Pulmonary Sequestration By Using The Chest Contrast Enhanced And3D Angiography On MSCT

Objective:To identify the value of diagnosis and classification of pulmonarysequestration by using the chest contrast enhanced and3D angiography on MSCT,thencorrelation research about pulmonary sequestration.Methods:18patients（10men，8women;age range,16-74years；mean,48years）of pulmonary sequestration from Junuary2007to March2012were retrospectivelystudied.Among all patients,6patients were in state of cough,sputum and chest pain;3patients only had’cough symptomatic;3patients had haemoptsis（2-20ml）;3patientswere in state of cough and sputum carring blood phlegmy;1patient were in state ofcough and sputum carring blood clot;2patients were in health examination.All patientsunderwent MSCT plain contrast and enhancement contrast,then the images weretransferred to workstation togenerate VR,MPR and MIP images. Fisher’s exactprobability was used in groups of PS in SPSS11.5.Results:All the pulmonary sequestration located in lower lung（17on the left and1on the right）.Aberrant systemic arterial supply was demonstrast in all cases,which arosefrom the descending thoracic aorta（n=7）,from abdominal aortal （n=1）and fromphrenic aortal （n=1）.On CT images,pulmonary sequestration contain four types:cysticmass（n=4）,solid mass （n=6）,systic and solid mixed mass （n=2）,only increased、thickened and disorder vessels（n=6）.In lesions with calcification are4cases,others areno calcification.10cases were done surgery （intralobar sequestration,8;extralobarsequestration,2）,8cases none surgery （intralobar sequestration,6;extralobarsequestration,2）.There are no statistical significance between chest contrast enhancedand3D angiography about PS diagnosis（P＞0.05）.Conclusion:The chest contrast enhanced and3D angiography （especially VRreconstration technique）on MSCT in pulmonary sequestration diagnosis has important application value,can be one of the gold standard about diagnosing pulmonarysequestration.
