Objective To analyze the effect of Miniature interlocking intramedullary nail for treating Fibula distal fracture with biomechanical method and to investigate the related biomechanical significance. Methods The Fibula of a heathy volunteer’s was scanned by CT and serial sections were obtained. Then the CT images were conserve into the disc. We collect DICOM data which were obtained by CT data and using these data through computer software to reconstruct the Fibula model and three dimensional finite element models of the Fibula. Through Pro-E CAD softeware to construct Miniature interlocking intramedullary nail model and then introduction to the Mimics softeware by STL format. The normal fibula geometric model will be established and microcomputer interlocking intramedullary nail model built into fibula miniature interlocking intramedullary nail fixation of geometric model, generating micro interlocking intramedullary nail fixation of fibula3D finite element model. According to the anatomical characteristics of the fibula, in normal standing position, the lower end of the upper bound of fibula, plus50N; then10N m is applied in the upper fibular torque, internal rotation, two kinds of load experiment.Result By modeling to obtain micro interlocking intramedullary nail fixation of fibula3D finite element model. In normal standing position, since the upper end to the lower end of the axial load on it, and then from the upper end to the lower axial load results on its internal pronation and supination:under axial load, micro interlocking intramedullary nail fixation of fibula stress on the whole in a relatively the more uniform state, fixed on the stress distribution around a certain degree centralized microcomputer interlocking intramedullary nail, there is the phenomenon of stress concentration in the lower1/3, the stress concentration is very important to the early maintenance of fracture end stability. Conclusion To establish the three-dimensional finite element model of three-dimensional finite element model of micro and fibula intramedullary nail. Biomechanical characteristics of fibula and fibula micro miniature pay of interlocking intramedullary nail in three-dimensional finite element analysis can be better locking intramedullary nail, and provide theoretical basis for clinical use.
