Recently, a new understanding of the orthodontic treatment has been appeared withthe popularization of scientific knowledge:that is during the orthodontic treatment, people not only pursuit of beautiful, but also requirement for making the teethmovement stable and effective. So, investigating the periodontal bonereconstruction during the tooth movement has very important significance to improvethe tooth movement speed. Objective: To investigate the expression of OCN and CystainC during orthodontictooth movement in rats, and analysis the relationship between that two facts; At last,we can also research the periodontal remodel under orthodontics rorce from thebiological view. Methods: Some experimental models of rats’orthodontic tooth movement wereinstalled in sixty Wistar rats with the weight about of200g, The rats were divided intosix groups randomly,60g orthodontic force were applied on the models, then the ratwere sacrificed after1d,3d,5d,7d,14d and21d respectively, The morphology wasobserved by HE staining. The expression of OCN and CystainC in alveolar bone weredetected and quantified with SABC.Results: Under the microscope,it shows many positive cells with brown dyeparticles, what’s more, there is a relationship between the changes in the number of positive cells and orthodontic force. In the early stage(at1~7d) of the toothmovement,OCN expression is increased, on the contrary, CystainC expression isdecreased, and osteoclasts increased; In the late stage (at7~21d) the OCNexpression is decreased, the CystatinC just have a contrary change, and osteoclastsdecreased. Conclusion: Both OCN and CystatinC are involved in proteolysis during orthodontictooth movement. And there are correlation between the changes of OCN andCystatinC, What’s more, it’s a negative correlation they presented.
