Objective:Fixed resin bite flat was made on maxillary anterior teeth of30overbite patients, the gingiva crevicular fluid(GCF) and periodontal clinical indices were detected before and after bite plates were made, the feasibility of clinical application of fixed resin bite flat was assessed for clinical treatment.Method:30overbite patients,180maxillary anterior teeth in total were selected at Random, one side of maxillary anterior teeth was selected as experimental teeth, other side was selected as control teeth. Fixed resin bite flats were made on experimental teeth.plaque index(PLI)、sulcus bleeding index (SBI)、probing depth (PD)、attachment loss(AL) were measured at different times. GCF was collected and measured. ELISA was adopted to determine the concentration of interleukin1beta and interleukin6before and after making bite plates.Results:(1)Compard with the teeth before making bite flat, the PLI、SBI、PD、 GCF IL-1B、IL-6of experiment teeth increase and in4weeks after making bite flat. The difference was statistically (P<0.05). Compared with the teeth4weeks after making bite flat, the PLI、SBI、PD、GCF IL-1B、IL-6of experimental teeth decrease when the bite flat was removed. The difference was statistically (P<0.05) Compared with the control teeth4weeks after making bite plate, the PLI、SBI、PD、 GCF IL-1B、IL-6of experimental group increased. The difference was statistically (P <0.05).(2) Compared with the teeth before making bite flat, the PLI、SBI、PD、GCF、IL-1B、 IL-6of the experimental teeth after removing the bite flat were not obvious changes and, there were no significant differences (P>0.05). There were no significant changes in the controlled group when all the indicators were detected before making bite plate,4weeks later and removing it (P>0.05)(3) AL won’t detected during whole experimental process. Conclusions:Through multifactor tests, fixed resin bite flat could lead to gum slight inflammation. But the inflammation is temporary. Gums could recover after removing the fixed resin bite flat and there was no permanent damage of periodontal tissue. Therefore, fixed resin bite flat is available in the clinical application.
