Reverse engineering is an emerging technology, has been widely used in digital design and manufacturing of product. This new technology can reduce the cost and risk of the development of new products, to shorten the development cycle of the products, speeding up the pace of product replacement.With the combination of Reverse engineering technology and Computer-aided tomography, the local tomography data can be converted into the three-dimensional model of human body by the computer reconstruction, which is useful for the clinical diagnosis and pathological analysis. In this paper, the characteristic of the standard fixed steel for Femoral fractures has been researched by combining the software of Mimics10.0, Reverse engineering technology, Digital Design and Computer Graphics. Also, an individualized fixation plate design and fixed program based on the surface morphology of the human femur has been proposed. With the help of Solidworks2010, the modeling and virtual assembly for the femur and fixed steel can be completed, while Statics finite element simulation and comparative analysis can be finished in Ansys12.0.The main content researched in this paper is as follows:1) The different methods of preliminary pretreatment in Digital Image has been analyzed contrastively, such as the technology of Image grayscale, Image denoising and Image segmentation. By analyzing the characteristic of these methods, a new idea for the pretreatment of CT image has been proposed.2) By using the Medical Engineering software of Mimics10.01, the reconstruction of three-dimensional digital model for the femur fractures has been completed. Also, the three-dimensional model, which accords with the basic features of human anatomy, has been built.3) Based on the three-dimensional digital model of the femur, the design of the standard and individualized fixation plate are finished in Solidworks2010. Simultaneously, these two methods have been analyzed contrastively on the morphological characteristics, and the simulation assembly of them has been finished at last.4) After researching the force of knee when human walks normally, the mechanical model is built, which can be Statics solved in Ansys12.0. Simultaneously, the characteristics of these two different plates can be analyzed. The research data shows that the properties of static have been improved greatly compared to standard fixation steel plate. Because of high adaptability with the femur surface and joint degree which comfort the patients, this method has some practical reference significance for the Bone surgery.
