Objective:To study the expression of Kif4A, PARP-1and P53in breast invasive ductal cancer and para-cancerous tissue and to investigate the relationship between Kif4A, PARP-1, P53and the important clinicopathological significance.Method:78cases of breast invasive ductal carcinoma were collected from the Department of Pathology in The Third Hospital Affiliated to Suzhou University. The expression of Kif4A, PARP-1and P53proteins were detected by EnVisionTM immunohistochemistry; then analyzed the correlation between the expression of Kif4A, PARP-1and P53and the clinicopathological features.Results:(1) The positive rates of Kif4A protein in breast cancer tissue and para-cancerous were33.3%(26/78) and79.5%(62/78).There was a significant difference between the expression of breast cancer tissue and para-cancerous tissue (P<0.05). The positive rates of PARP-1in breast cancer tissue and para-cancerous tissue were69.2%(54/78) and43.6%(34/78). There was a significant difference between the expression of breast cancer tissue and para-cancerous tissue (P<0.05). The positive rate of P53protein in breast cancer tissue was89.7%(70/78).(2) There was a significant relationship between the expression of PARP-1with tumor size (P<0.05);but the expression of PARP-1was not correlated to patient’s age, histological grade, lymph node metastasis and pathological staging (P>0.05).There was also a significant relationship between the expression of P53with tumor size(P<0.05); but the expression of P53was not correlated to patient’s age, histological grade, lymph node metastasis and pathological staging (P>0.05).The expression of Kif4A protein was not correlated with patient’s age, tumor size, histological grade, lymph node metastasis and pathological staging in breast cancer tissue (P>0.05).(3) There was a significant relationship between the expression of PARP-1with the expression of P53in breast cancer tissue (r=0.324, P=0.000).There was a tendency of positive correlation between the expression of Kif4A with the expression of PARP-1and P53in breast cancer tissue, but the difference was not significant (r=0.134, P=0.234; r=0.237, P=0.037).Conclusion:The expression of Kif4A is significantly decreased and the expression of PARP-1and P53are increased in breast invasive ductal cancer tissue. Kif4A may play an important role inthe development of breast cancer and PARP-1and P53may be associated with the prognosis of breast cancer.
