Objective:To study the expression of the PLAC1in colorectal cancer and metastatic liver cancer and its clinical significance. Methods:The paraffin-embedded specimens from62cases of colorectal cancer and28cases of normal mucosa and13cases of liver metastatic cancer were examined for PLAC1expressions using immunohistochemistry. Results:The expressions of PLAC1protein in the specimens of normal mucosa, colorectal cancer and liver metastatic cancer were0%(0/28),56.45%(35/62),61.53%(8/13) respectively P<0.01), A significantly difference were found between the colorectal cancer, liver metastatic cancer and the normal mucosa. There was no difference between the colorectal cancer and the liver metastatic cancer (P>0.05). A significantly difference were also found between the male and female patients (P<0.05). The elevated PLAC1expression was correlated with infiltration depth、lymph node metastasis and distant metastasis (P<0.05)ConeIusion:The abnormal expression of PLAC1may play an important role in genesis, progression and metastasis of colorectal carcinoma.
