Objective By248cases of neural tube defects in children with clinical retrospectiveanalysis, exploring the transformation of their clinical characteristics and for clinicaldiagnosis, treatment and prevention of neural tube defects in children with provide somereference.Methods The clinical data of248cases with neural tube defects from General Hospitalof Ningxia Medical University which was enrolled from January,2003to March,2012in thisstudy. We analyzed retrospectively clinical characteristics of all patients with test, to getthe related disease features.Results248patients were enrolled from January,2003to March,2012in GeneralHospital of Ningxia Medical University. Children in neural tube defects: male more thanfemale, most occurs among the winter and spring season, the country was significantly higherthan the city, from January,2003to March,2012the incidence of neural tube defects on adeclining trend. The pregnancy that is younger than20and older than35were higher thanother age groups. There was no difference of neural tube defects in children with ethnic andNingxia five municipal areas. Folic acid consumption and fewer drugs are concerned,maternal education, smoking alcohol; heat and food are not covered.Conclusion Incidence of neural tube defects in children: male more than female, mostoccurs among the winter and spring season, the country was significantly higher than the city.From January,2003to March,2012the incidence of neural tube defects on a declining trend.The pregnancy that is younger than20and older than35were higher than other age groups.
