In this paper, based on the current situation of domestic and foreign3D dentalscanning technology, we analyze that the dental impression acquirement in domesticdental industry need more process and more time. The foreign technology, however, hasrealized directly intraoral dental scanning. Due to price and technical barriers, thepopularity of the foreign dental scanning and CAD/CAM system is very difficult indomestic dental clinical practice.Based on the structured light measurement principle, digital fringes projectiontechnology and phase-shifting measuring technology, specific to the3D profile of sometiny objects like teeth, in this paper we proposes a3D scanning system which was directlyused for intraoral dental measurement due to the advantages of flexibility and longdistance transmission of fiber image bundle. The structured light is generated by DLPLightCommander produced by Texas Instruments Company, shrunk via telecentricimaging lens, conveyed in fiber image bundle. Utilizing the transformational relationbetween single-camera and projector, afterwards, the3D profile of teeth is obtained byreconstructing the acquisition images in electronic endoscope. The feasibility of thissystem has been testified in our experiments. It satisfies the requirements ofminiaturization, directness and flexibility; expands the scope of application of micro-3Dmeasurement with structured light in dental clinical practice.In addition, considering the sharpness requirements and numerous specific features ofteeth, in this paper, we overcame poor transmission quality of fiber image bundle and lowresolution ratio of electronic endoscope CCD camera, adopted phase compensation forDMD image and Butterworth Lowpass Filtering, and satisfied the sharpness requirements.In the process of testing the feasibility of this system, the author accomplished thecalibration of this system and the accuracy evaluation, then, reconstructed the3D featureof dental impression.
