| [Objective] To compare clinical effect of minimally invasive surgery transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion versus open transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion in the treatment of single level lumbar degenerative disease.[Methods] From Sept.2010to mar.2012,a total of57patients with single level lumbar degenerative disease were divided into2groups. Twenty-seven cases in group1underwent MIS-TLIF and others in group2underwent open-TLIF. Length of incision operating time, blood loss, volume of drainage after operation, changing rate of creatine kinase, time of ambulation, and hospital stay after surgery and one years follow-up including VAS (visual analogue score),ODI (Oswestry disability index) were assessed.[Results] Length of incision operating time, blood loss, volume of drainage after operation, changing rate of creatine kinase, time of ambulation, and hospital stay after surgery better for MIS-TLIF than for open-TLIF. All patients were followed up for one years. In patients VAS score and ODI score showed significantly better improvement at1week,l month,3month for MIS-TLIF versus open-TLIF patients.[Conclusions] MIS-TLIF in the treatment of single level lumbar degenerative disease could show less operation trauma, accelerated recovery and satisfying Short and medium-term effect. It is a safe and reliable technique. However, number of cases in this group was small and the follow-up time is not long enough, its needs further expand the cases and prospective observational study. |
