Objective: The objective is to observe the efficacy and safety of Zishe Cream oneczema. Methods: All the subjects in this clinical curative effect test come from the patientswho were treated in the Dermatology Clinic of The First Affiliated Hospital of FujianMedical University within the time period lasting from July2012to February2013.Also, all subjects satisfy the diagnosticcriteria of eczema and the requirement thatmajor lesions distribute over the body in a symmetric way. Using the self-controlmethod (over two sides of limbs and trunk) for each subject, we choose two lesions onleft and right side of the body, and randomly pick one side as the treatment group, making the other side the control group. The treatment group is treated using ZisheCream, while the control group is treated using Hydrocortisone Butyrate Cream; thetwo kind of cream are both applied twice a day, once in the morning and once at night. The courses of treatment last for14days. We record the eczema area and severityindex, itchy level index and patient self-evaluation before the treatment,7days afterthe treatment and14days after the treatment, respectively. Results: In total, there are31subjects in this test; since there is no fall-off subject, wefinish the clinical test with all31subjects, of whom11are male and20are female. The average age is36.16±16.28; the average course of treatment is8.90±11.66months. After one-week treatment, the average EASI value in both groups falls; inaddition, there exists no significant difference between the two levels of falling(P>0.05). After two-week treatment, the average EASI value falls even further; thedifference between the two groups is not statistically significant(P>0.05). Afterone-week treatment, no patient is completely healed in either group; the effective ratein treatment group is22.58%, and the effective rate in control group is22.58%, sothere is no significant difference between these two effective rates(P>0.05). Aftertwo-week treatment, the numbers of healed patients and effective ones together withthe effective rate all increase considerably; the effective rate in treatment groupbecomes67.74%, and the effective rate in control group becomes70.97%, so there is no significant difference between these two effective rates(P>0.05). Afterone/two-week treatment, the itchy level indices in the two groups fall, and the levelsof falling are not significantly different (P>0.05). No obvious adverse reactionappears in the test. In the self-evaluation, most patients report that Zishe Cream hasgood color, smell and some other attributes, and that their lesions, moist degree ofskin and the quality of life all improve. In conclusion, the treatment group(using ZisheCream) and the control group(using Hydrocortisone Butyrate Cream) both showobvious improvement in the symptoms of Eczema, with no significant differencebetween the levels of improvement, and the patients are satisfied with the attributes ofZishe Cream. Conclusion: Zishe Cream exhibits an obvious curative effect on eczema, and canevidently improve patients’ quality of life. Besides, it has equivalent curative effect tothat of Hydrocortisone Butyrate Cream. We conclude that Zishe Cream has goodattributes while also being safe for using, so it should be promoted in the clinicaltreatment of eczema.
