Melilotus albus is widely distributed and hardy, and can be used for green manure and forage grass, etc. however Melilotus. albus contains coumarin and generates dcoumarin after moldy.It is bitter in taste and palatability is poorer,it can also cause poisioning. This paper fermentates mixing Melilotus. albus with corn straw in different proportion (10:0,8:2,6,4,4,6,2:8,0,10) and different time (30d,45d,60d), and mixed sowing with different proportion (seeding quantity respectively10:0,7:3,5,5,3,7,0,10). The indexes of Silage includes fermentation quality, nutrition, coumarin and dicoumarol; the indexes of mixed seeding includes nutrition and palatability. The main results obtained are as followsWith the proportion of Melilotus albus increasing, pH, ammonia/total nitrogen, crude protein and lactic acid, would increase, while the neutral detergent fiber and acid detergent fiber has a descending trend, the alkaloid content of all mixed silage was significantly lower (P<0.05) than raw material of Melilotus albus. Ensiling days(30d,45d,60d) had no significant effect on the fermentation quality.The mixed silage with M. albus blow20%was the best, the average content of crude protein was43.53%(38.34%~46.47%) higher than that of single corn straw silage, the average coumarin and dicoumarol content was81.53%(80.99%-81.82%) and90.67%(90.52%~91.00%) lower than raw material of Melilotus albus.With the proportion of M. albus increasing, The crude protein would increase, biomass has no significant difference, the content of coumarin and dicoumarol would increase. The content of crude protein is17.21%~56.41%higher than Echinochloa crusgalli and the content of coumarin and dicoumarol is30.81%~69.16%å'Œ30.7%-100%lower than Melilotus albus,respectively.Palatability results show that Echinochloa crusgalli proportion can improve the palatability,the palatability of30%is good,the feeding time is the shortest. The content of crude protein is14.68%higher than Echinochloa crusgalli and the content of coumarin and dicoumarol is81.53%and90.67%lower than Melilotus albus, respectively.
