| Two spring wheat(Triticum aestivum L.) cultivars,Longmai26and Kehan16were investigatedthe effects of exogenous silicon(Si) on seeds germination, seedlings growth and their relatedPhysiological and Biochemical Parameters. The main results were presented as follows:With different concentretions(0.5mmol/L,1.0mmol/L,2.5mmol/L) exogenous Si significantlyincreased the seed germination rate, germ inability, vitality index and germinating index; At thesame time, the plant length and root length of wheat seedlings all significantly enhanced by addedSi;And the accumulation of shoot fresh and dry weight and root fresh and dry weight weresignificantly increased. The positive effect of1.0mmol/L Si was marked.By comparing the effect of different concentrations silicon on the amylase activity of wheatseed under low temperature. The results show that:the amylase activity of Longmai26significantly increased with0.5mmol/L and1.0mmol/L Si;and0.5mmol/L Si could markedlyincrease the amylase activity of Kehan16.The content of chlorophyll a in leaves of two spring wheat cultivar all increased significantlyby added Si under low temperature. The content of chlorophyll a of both wheat cultivars beinghigher with1.0mmol/L Si content than without Si content. The relative electric conductivity and accumulation of malondialdehyde (MDA) and pralinewere partially reversed with the application of silicon. However, the soluble sugar content wasmarkedly increased by added Si.The activity of POD and SOD in wheat seeds and leaves allsignificantly improved with different concentrations silicon. This indicates Si could reduced theharm of low temperature to wheat through enhances the ability of eliminating active oxygenspecies maintenance of membrance stability.Exogenous silicon could marked improved the content of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium andsilicon in root, stem and leaves of wheat seedlings.Increased the uptake ability of nutrients andchange the nutrition status of both wheat seedlings. It could offer enough energy for physiologicalactivities. |
