This paper reports an research of vegetation types and component and the biomass of vegetation on Wushen county by using a great number of field measurement data and2012Wushen county vegetation type map. The phytomass and carbon storage are estimated in two scale, the individual level and the regional level. A number of morphological parameters such as plant height(H),canopy diameter (D) and so on, were chosen as independent variable, while the above-ground and below-ground chosen as dependent variable in order to establish statistical regression model in individual level. The biomass density of community which represent regional scale was calculated by individual regression model and plot measurement data. Multiply community biomass density by community area from vegetation type may equals to regional total vegetation biomass,then transform to regional vegetation total carbon storage. The main result list as follows:(1) The average biomass carbon content rate of shrub in Wu Shen banner is46.97%and the average biomass carbon content rate of grass in Wu Shen banner is39.35%.(2)Among four habitat types, the biomass density of low wetland was the biggest,1763.6g·m-2. The biomass density of fixed dune stood second,584.0g·m-2. The biomass density of semi-fixed dune was419.3g·m-2. The biomass density of shifting dune was the smallest,364.8g· m-2.(3) Wushen county regional vegetation carbon storage is2.856TgC,above-ground carbon storage1.533TgC, below-ground carbon storage1.323TgC. Meanwhile carbon density of regional vegetation was244.53gC·m-2. Above-ground carbon density was131.26gC·m-2. Below-ground carbon density was113.27gC·m-2.
