| China is the home of tea with a long history. Tea gardens all over the countryenjoy exceptional advantages such as the broadness of tea-producing area and thevariety of tea types which made tea garden tourism extraordinarily popular. Alongwith the gradual regularization of tea industry, the public brings forward higherrequirements on the aesthetic and recreational functions of agri-tourism, and that iswhy tea manors are emerging. Tea manors tailored in the mode of French chateau arenot only agricultural specified gardens of new era, but also a newly developed kind ofgarden landscape.With the maturity of the development of Fujian Tea industry, most tea corporatesattach great importance to carry forward consciousness of good quality and topromote tea industrial culture. Companies in cities like Quanzhou and Ningde areextending to tourism based on profoundness of local tea culture so as to develop incross fields. These companies, by putting in as much money as more times investmentof regular tea producing foundation, start to build up tea manors and open up tourismbusiness. This study focuses specifically on tea manors and has investigates deeply ontheir design planning.Based on theories and knowledge such as tea studies, landscape architecture,landscape aesthetics and environmental science and combined with findings fromresearches of the same topic, this study analyzed the status of existing environmentsettings and distributive conditions in Fujian province by literature review and fieldtrip. And the results are as follows.This study:1. has probed into the recent development of tea manors’ modes of operationboth home and abroad, then pointed out and explained the developmentalgoals and meanings of the manorization of tourism tea garden, predicted itsprospect and trend, and also analyzed the definition of tea manors.2. has gave an clear explanation of the connotation, function and characteristics of tea manors. Based on the analysis of tea manors’ development in ourcountry, this study further looked into the recent development of tea manorsin Fujian province, then discovered the existing problems that those majorshad in their design and planning.3. has examined systematically the designing philosophies, rules andmethodology of both tea manor and manor landscape; has discussed indetail the elements which are keys to form a landscape, including naturalenvironmental elements, humane environmental elements, influentialfactors and essentiality of planning; has analyzed functional sectors oflandscapes and the outline of paths within tea manors. The author believedthat a tea manor can be grouped into nine sectors, including professionalproduction sector, sight-seeing picking sector, tea culture presentationsectors and alike. In this way, the tea manor should become adevelopmentally sustainable space which is saturated with intense local teacultural ambience and full of unique natural ecology.4. has preliminarily explored a tea manor design and planning way for Fujianprovince, which is strongly influenced by subtropical monsoon climate; hasproposed a development and tourism system that fits best for Fujian teamanors in several different aspects, including landscape visional design,environmental ecology greening and landscape cultural environment.By looking into the problems that exist on current tea manors, and by followingthe practical rules and philosophy, this study has analyzed the status quo of tourismtea manors of similar kinds and summarized planning theories and practices. Based onall above investigation and deep study, the author has proposed a system combinedwith functional sectors, park paths and tourism which best fits Fujian tea manors andalso benefits the formation of local tea cultural ambience and a developmentalsustainable as well as ecologically unique gardening space. |
