Yunnan Province has a long history of tea production, the production and areawere in the front of country, Lincang, Pu’er and Xishuang banna are the major teaproducing areas in Yunnan province. Soil is the foundation of the tea tree growth andthe main source of nutrients. Soil also plays an important role in the high yield andgood quality of tea growth. This paper studied the fertility status of the tea garden soilthrough field investigating and sampling, laboratory analysis and computertechnology. Taking pH, organic matter, total N, P, K, available N, P, K, exchangeableCa, Mg, available Cu, Zn, Fe, Mn as the assessment indices, evaluated the fertilityquality of tea garden soil. The main results were as follows:1. The average of pH in pu ’er tea garden soil is4.81, the average of the organicmatter, total N, P, K, available N, P, K, exchangeable Ca, Mg, available Cu, Zn, Fe,Mn are27.79g/kg、81.31mg/kg、19.84mg/kg、107.53mg/kg、2.14g/kg、0.68g/kg、11.96g/kg、956.27mg/kg、128.29mg/kg、1.22mg/kg、2.59mg/kg、76.20mg/kg、41.49mg/kg。2.Lincang city tea garden soil in each index reached more than suitableproportion of all soil samples is the least amount of exchangeable magnesium, only37.29%, followed by the available P was50.85%; City of pu ’er tea garden soil in eachindex reached more than suitable proportion of soil samples is the least amount oftotal potassium by25%, followed by alkaline hydrolysis nitrogen and exchangeablecalcium, were47.5%and47.5%respectively; Xishuangbanna tea garden soil in eachindex reached more than suitable proportion of soil samples is the least amount oftotal potassium, at14.29%, followed by the available phosphorus and totalphosphorus, were38.19%,57.14%. 3. The soil fertility quality of the main producing areas of Yunnan province couldbe generally summarized as follows: soil pH is suitable; Rich in organic mattercontent and total nitrogen content, the microelement such as copper zinc manganeseiron is enough, No difference between the three region soil nutrient comprehensiveevaluation, but there are some nutrient supply imbalance phenomenon among them, the tea garden soil of Pu ’er, Lincang, Banna nutrient limiting factors are respectivelyalkali solution nitrogen and total potassium content, available phosphorus, totalpotassium content.4. The tea garden soil’s IFI of major tea producing areas of yunnan provincewhich are higher then0.6is accounted for75%, the mineral soil nutrient content(especially the content of trace elements) is suitable for the growth of tea tree and thetea garden soil nutrient comprehensive index IFI value distribution between0.6-0.8.5. The organic matter, total nitrogen and effective manganese content of Ancienttea garden were higher than modern tea plantations and the available phosphorus andeffective zinc, exchangeable calcium content of the modern tea plantations is higherthan the ancient tea garden. Overall, the modern tea garden and the ancient tea gardenof IFI value has no obvious difference, IFI value mainly depends on the type of thesoil nutrient management mode.
