The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of different microbial preparations on the microbial quality of rape straw and rumen degradation rate, selected appropriate micro-storage method of rape straw and study the digestion and metabolism of the Jinjiang cattle. The test was divided into three parts.Test one:The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of different Microbial preparations on the microbial quality of rape straw. In this study, A, B, C three Microbial preparations, used them to treat the rape straw. There were seven treatment groups in this study, and each treatment had three replicates, the sensory quality and chemical compositon of micro-storage rape straw were evaluated. The results showed that:(1) Three Microbial preparations could improved the color and the quality of micro-storage rape straw, the bouquet were more strong, and texture were more soft. Among all single microbial preparations groups, the improvement effects of microbial preparations B group were best, among the combination groups, the A+C group were the best.(2) Compared with control group, the pH value of microbial preparations treated groups were reduced to a certan extent, the pH value of A treatment group was lowest, and significant lower than the control group (P<0.05), but there were no significant differences among the single microbial preparation groups (P>0.05). Among the combination groups, the pH value of the A+C group was the lowest, but there were no significant difference between the combination groups and control group (P>0.05).(3) The contents of soluble carbohydrate of each treatment group were higher than the control group, the content of soluble carbohydrate of group C was highest among all single microbial preparations groups, there was significant difference between the C group and the A group (P<0.05), but there were no significant difference between the C group and the B group (P>0.05).Among the combination groups, the content of soluble carbohydrate of B+C group was highest among the combination groups, but the differences between each combination groups were not significant (P>0.05).(4) The contents of crude protein of row straw were increased after microbial preparations treating. The contents of crude protein of group B was significant higher than the group A and group C (P<0.05). The contents of crude protein of B+C group was significant higher, but there were no significant difference between the B+C group and A+C and A+B group (P>0.05).(5) The content of acid detergent fiber (ADF) of group B was significant lower than the group A and C (P<0.05). The content of acid detergent fiber (ADF) of B+C group was lowest among the combination groups, but there were no significant difference between each group (P>0.05).(6) The content of the neutral detergent fiber of test groups were lower than the control group, The content of the neutral detergent fiber of the group B was lowest among single microbial preparations groups and significant lower than control group. The content of the neutral detergent fiber of B+C group was lowest among the combination groups, but there were no significant difference between each group (P>0.05).The results suggested that, all the microbial preparations can improve the sensory quality and nourishment.Test two:The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of different microbial preparations on the rumen degradation kinetics parameters of rape straw by the nylon bag technique. The results showed that, there were a reduced tendency to effect the slow degradation and non-biodegradable portion of rape straw dry matter (P=0.10), and the slow degradation parts of rape straw dry matter of group A, group A+B and group B+C were higher and the non-biodegradable portions were lower. Compared with the control group, the degradation rate of OM of rape straw of group B and group A+B were higher (P=0.07). The utility degradation rate of OM of rape straw of group A+B was significant higher than the single microbial preparations groups (P=0.07), but there were no significant difference between the group A+B and other groups. There was no effect of microbial preparations on the rumen slow degradation and non-biodegradable portion and degradation rate of NDF of rape straw dry matter (P>0.10), but the degradation rate of group A+B was higher than other groups (P=0.15). There were significant effect of trail treatment on the rumen utility degradation rate of NDF of rape straw dry matter(P<0.01), the rumen utility degradation rate of NDF of rape straw dry matter of group A and group A+C were higher than other single microbial preparations groups. There were significant effect of trail treatment on the rumen slow degradation (P=0.02) and non-biodegradable portion (P=0.05) and degradation rate (P<0.01) and of ADF of rape straw dry matter. Compared with the control group, the slow degradation portion of ADF of group B+C was higher and the non-biodegradable portion of ADF of group A was lower. There were no significant difference of rumen degradation rate between the control group and the the group A+B, but the rumen degradation rate of them were higher than other groups. The result suggested that, adding the microbial preparations into the rape straw can change the the rumen degradation kinetics parameters of rape straw. In summary, the effect of group A+B group on the rumen degradation rate and utility degradation rate of rape straw were higher, and the effectiveness were better.Test three:on the base of test one and test two, we considered the effectiveness of group A+B was best. The microbial preparations of A+B group was selected to treat the rape straw, then study the effect of them on the digestion metabolic of Jingjiang cattle.6health catties with the similar weight (350kg) were randomly divided into two groups, control group and test group, each group had3catties. The catties were fed alone, the adaptation period had5days and the trial period had10days. During the last three days of the trial period, the feces of the catties were collected, the related indexes were measured. The results showed that, compared with control group, the CP content (P=0.06) and energy (P=0.06) and the apparent digestibility of ADF of trial group cattles were trended to increase, it suggests that, using microbial preparations to treat the rape straw can inprove the utilization rate of CP and energy and fibra of forage in Jingjiang cattle.
